It was a pleasure to have hosted Dr. Michael Banissy (University of Bristol) and Dr. Xiaoting Li (University of Alberta) for a talk regarding their work in the field of touch research.
Dr. Banissy is a professor in social neuroscience and the Head of School of Psychological Science within the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Bristol. He presented his work on the role of somatosensation in social perception and wellbeing.
Dr. Li is a professor of Chinese Linguistics in the Department of East Asian Studies, Acting Director of the Kule Institute for Advanced Studies and President of the Chinese Language Teaching and Research Association at the University of Alberta. She presented her work on the social organization of touch.
